How to help the Chapter:
Mentoring & Time
The chapter needs parents that are willing to serve as advisors to the chapter. The time commitment would be minimal but the impact would be HUGE. This role would involve phone meetings with the chapter president once a month and visits to the chapter house once a month. We recognize that parents are extremely busy, but the chapter is always willing to work with parents and any time given would be greatly appreciated.

Parent Speakers Program
In this program, a parent speaker addresses the chapter at our General Fraternity Meetings (held every Wednesday at 7:00PM) and educates us on something you wish you knew as an undergraduate. Topics can vary from how to plan your finances to how to take care of your car or how find someone that is right for you. Presentations can last as little as five minutes and serve as great a way to reconnect with the chapter. In the past we have had Bob McKeeman speak to the chapter on relationships, Al Walters talk about the history of our chapter, Ken Ahrens on why sticking it out at Georgia Tech is the right thing to do just to name a few topics.
Example topics could be: What should you do to be financially secure once you graduate? How does one invest in the stock market? What are the essential parts you should check on your car? How does one structure a resume? What are the terms to securing a loan? How does one acclimate to life after graduation? You don't have to be a prolific public speaker. Chapter members would just be excited to learn from you.
Career Advice & Networking
We all know that Georgia Tech is a great school. At the same time, landing that dream job is still a difficult endeavor. The chapter would like more parents to advertise job openings to those associated with Delta Upsilon. This would be a great way to help your son grow beyond his time at Georgia Tech. Delta Upsilon offers an excellent place to begin building a business network.
Support Financially
This year we started an undergraduate scholarship for incoming freshmen and sent a record number of brothers to the Leadership Institution. Funding for these came from the Educational Fund. We ask for your continued support for these educational programs.
Our chapter strives to keep dues and rent at a competitive level while offering an extensive array of events and activities. We need assistance in ensuring that our facilities are maintained at a high standard of excellence. This year we are starting an annual fundraiser with the purpose of paying for alumni and parents events and also improving the chapter property.
